Lafleur leads Canadiens in 1978 finals

Game one of the 1978 Stanley Cup finals sets the tone for the entire series as the Montreal Canadiens beat Boston by a score of 4 to 1. Leading the way is Guy Lafleur, who scores a goal and assists on two more to ensure the victory. In this clip from Hockey Night in Canada, Dick Irvin interviews Lafleur after the game to assess the match, and learn more about Montreal's strategy against the Bruins.

Lafleur leads Canadiens in 1978 finals

• Montreal beat Boston four games to two to win the 1978 Stanley Cup. It was their fourth of five championships under coach Scotty Bowman (1973, 1976 through 1979). Guy Lafleur led the playoffs with 21 points: 10 goals and 11 assists.

• Lafleur's teammate, defenseman Larry Robinson, won that year's Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs. He scored four times and notched 17 assists.
