Tim Horton's funeral
Broadcast Date: Feb. 25, 1974
Several days after his tragic death in a car crash, Tim Horton's high-profile funeral is held on a sunny February day in Toronto. "The crowd that filed out into the harsh winter sun read like a 'who's who' of professional hockey," says the reporter in this 1974 CBC News clip. Horton's pallbearers are hockey greats Allan Stanley, Bob Baun, Dave Keon, George Armstrong, Dick Duff and Billy Harris. And by pure chance, there were no NHL games scheduled on the day of his funeral.Tim Horton's funeral
