• One of the most popular and productive players in Montreal Canadiens' history, Guy Lafleur helped the club win five Stanley Cups during his 14 years with the franchise. For the NHL's 1975-1976 season (when this episode aired), Lafleur won the Art Ross Trophy for most points scored in the regular season and the Lester B. Pearson Award for most outstanding player as judged by his fellow players.
• The 1975-1976 season also saw the rise of the Montreal hockey dynasty that lasted until 1979 and captured four consecutive Stanley Cups. Guy Lafleur played a huge part on that celebrated team, and was named an all star every year until 1980. He became an officer of the Order of Canada in 1980 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988. The Canadiens retired his number (10) in 1985. As of 2008 he still holds several club records, including most points in a season.
