Prince Philip's Operation Tiger

Every member of the royal family has a favourite cause, and for Prince Philip, husband to Queen Elizabeth, it's wildlife conservation. Philip is in Toronto as international president of the World Wildlife Fund, speaking and raising money for projects like the preservation of tiger habitats in India. In this CBC Television clip, he tells interviewer Barbara Frum about his efforts to raise awareness of the negative human impact on global wildlife populations.

• Prince Philip became president of the U.K. branch of the World Wildlife Fund in 1961 and international president in 1981. He held the latter post until 1996. During his time as president, the prince visited WWF projects in over 40 countries. <br>• In May 1961 the prince was the first member of the Royal Family to be interviewed on television.
