She looks like a real baby and cries when she wants to be held. For little girls everywhere, Baby Boo is this year's coveted Christmas gift. Meanwhile, little boys are asking for a series of high-tech counter-espionage gadgets. The toy industry is booming and is expected to earn $150 million worth of business this season. But child psychologists say the new brand of toys leave nothing to the imagination. CBC Radio reports on the debate between the toy manufacturers and the child behaviourists.1960s toys critiqued
• Other classic toys that were introduced to the toy market during the 1960's include the Easy-Bake Oven, the first "action figure" G.I. Joe, the Nerf foam ball, Etch-a-Sketch, and Hot Wheels.
• Talking dolls were also popular during the 1960s with the Chatty Baby and Sister Small-Talk dolls.
