• Annette Verschuren hails from North Sydney, N.S. and began her career in the administrative side of a coal mining operation there.

• In 2005, she was awarded with Distinguished Canadian Retailer of the Year Award by the Retail Council of Canada.

• Home Depot is a relatively young, but fast-growing company. Founded in the U.S. in 1979, it is now the world's largest chain of home improvement stores. It operates stores in all 10 Canadian provinces.
