Metronome
Debuting in 1965, Metronome was a symphony of Canadian music, news, documentaries and interviews. A 1967 show featured the history of carillons, folk music expert Edith Fowke, introducing the Travellers' record of labour songs and a report on the latest tunes from Expo 67. Opera, ballet, classical, folk and popular music were included in the show. Canadian artists including Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Joni Mitchell were interviewed along with leading composers such as Sir Ernest MacMillan and Harry Freedman. Alan Miller and Harry Brown presented the half hour evening show until its end in 1971.
