Expodition
In Canada's centennial year, the city of Montreal played host to the world with Expo 67. "Man and His World" was the theme of the 1967 world's fair, a six-month celebration that drew 50 million visitors to a site on three artificial islands in the St. Lawrence River. Broadcast from Expo's International Broadcasting Centre, Expodition was CBC Radio's daily guide to the pavilions, the people, the pleasures and the problems of Expo 67.

Expodition: Synthesis of the Arts at Expo 67
Broadcast Date: July 5, 1967
Conveying the essence of sculpture on the radio isn't an easy thing to do – and reporter Lynn Jackson is the first to admit it. She's in front of the Canadian pavilion at Expo 67, and in the background listeners can hear the sculpture in question, Synthesis of the Arts, clanging and chiming. In this segment, Jackson asks passersby what they think of the sculpture.Expodition: Synthesis of the Arts at Expo 67
• An official Expo 67 publication described the sculpture like this: "A work of factory-made metal and plastic materials, which combines movement, refracted light, and sound. As the parts of the structure move, metal plates and rods are struck; this sound is amplified and fed through an electronic filter which converts the sound impulses into light."• The sculpture was the work of a team of artists, architects and technicians led by Montreal's Richard Lacroix.
