Mansbridge One on One: Allan Gregg

Broadcast Date: Oct. 3, 1999

The results of the 1999 Saskatchewan general election are in, and hold a major surprise. Despite a strong NDP lead in advance public opinion polls, an unexpected victory by the Saskatchewan Party has many asking why the research was so off target. Citing urban bias and rural under-representation, political pundit Allan Gregg sits down to discuss why the advance polls didn't match the election outcome. "Public opinion polls have never been designed to predict behaviour," he explains in this interview with CBC host Peter Mansbridge.
