His father's son: Ted Rogers Jr.
Broadcast Date: May 31, 1989
Ted Rogers graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1961, but he made his name as a telecommunications pioneer. It was while he was a law student that he entered the world of FM radio, and followed in his father's footsteps. Known for his tireless devotion to his business, Rogers tells Peter Gzowski in this 1989 Morningside interview, "my business, I'm fortunate, is my hobby and I enjoy it very much" – but he laughs at the perception that he's addicted to work. Rogers points out that he does have four kids, plays tennis, swims, walks and loves politics and music.
Discussions with Ted Rogers invariably begin with mention of his father, and so it is with this radio interview – because, he says, "I have always sort of worshipped his memory, he was my hero."
