Michael Jackson retail ripoff

Broadcast Date: July 9, 1984

His image is everywhere — T-shirts, sweatshirts, buttons, posters and more. Michael Jackson's popularity in Canada is at an all time high. So too is the brisk trade in bootleg MJ merchandise — by some accounts, more than a million dollars a week in unlicensed retail goods. As we see in this 1984 clip from CBC-TV's The National, the King of Pop is sending in foot soldiers to retake his retail empire.
