Reporter Lynn Jackson talks to teenagers about jazz, and reporter Martin Bronstein interviews saxophonist Paul Desmond. • Expo 67 hosted an impressive range of big-name international performers. Among them were French singer Maurice Chevalier, actors Marlene Dietrich and Sir Laurence Olivier, and dancers Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev. Opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, still relatively unknown then, also played Expo 67.• San Francisco rock band Jefferson Airplane, then at the peak of their success, also played Expo 67.
