• Laurence was deeply committed to many political causes. As director of The Energy Probe Research Foundation, Laurence was active on issues of peace and the environment. After her death, and with the support of her family, the foundation created The Margaret Laurence Fund. The fund was developed to offer grants and scholarships to students, authors, researchers and publishers whose work promotes peace and environmentalism.Laurence's legacy
