Something to Say: Max Ferguson
Broadcast Date: Sept. 20, 1970
In this clip from 1970, Something to Say host Warren Davis sits down with the inimitable Max Ferguson to talk about Ferguson's long career in radio and his forays into television. Ferguson talks about how his Rawhide program evolved, treats the listener to samples of his past "buffoonery", and throws a little light on the work involved in compressing a full work day into an early morning couple of hours. He also of course recounts stories of his longtime friend and CBC colleague Allan McFee.

• When Ferguson retired in 1976 (not for the last time), farewell greetings came from former prime minister John Diefenbaker as well as Robert Stanfield, who quipped that Ferguson prevented him from becoming prime minister, and expressed the wish that Ferguson might retire "again and again".
• Politicians and public figures weren't the only targets of Ferguson's fertile mind. He and his Rawhide cast of characters also regularly made merry with CBC programs and hosts, including Citizen's Forum, Fighting Words and the venerable Kate Aitken.
